Breaking the Technology Myth

Good morning,

I wanted to share something I continue to hear about technology and how it’s “so easy” to break into tech AND make “x” amount of dollars. Let me tell you something.. it’s not that simple. Now to speak specifically.. you most certainly can break into technology with relative ease. That’s due to majority of us already understanding how technology works and leveraging existing skills to add additional value to an organization. Now that with that being said, this doesn’t always equal to “x” dollars and here’s what I mean.

In order to make a lot of money with anything, you have to have some form of competitive advantage or a rock solid skill set. Don’t be fooled by these people on tik tok saying “oh it’s so easy” or “do this for 2 months” or even “job hop a million times to get to this”. Now, they are telling part of the truth BUT ONLY PART. Unless you know someone at a certain level, don’t look at this as a walk in the park. My only point I want to drive home is really gather a skill and refine it.. this will get to your dollar amount you want. In addition, don’t stop there. Keep learning new skills and taking new opportunities as it comes. No one is saying stay faithful to one company for your entire career but do not leave there with the same skill set you came with.

In summary, keep working hard and learn as much as you can. This is the real magic behind your earning power.
